The FIGC would like to offer its condolences to Gianni Bondini's family following his recent death. Known for his work at the Gazzetta dello Sport, Bondini, born and raised in Rome, passed away at the age of 77. In his long career for the newspaper, he followed closely and reported on issues regarding the Football Federation.

“A professional of the highest value, and a man with great social skills, curiosity and a desire to tell about the distinctive episodes of his life has sadly left us," the words of FIGC President, Gabriele Gravina. "His passionate and elegant writing has left its mark on Italian sport.”
