FIGC presents declaration of interest in hosting Euro 2032
UEFA will in September 2023 assign the 2028 and 2032 editions of the tournament: the Italian FA thus today expressed its preference in modernizing stadia over a longer timeframeMonday, February 7, 2022

The Federazione Italian Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) presented in recent days a declaration of interest to UEFA as to the hosting of EURO 2032. With plenty of time until the deadline on 23 March, FIGC has declared a strong desire to be allocated this edition of the Euros, which Italy has twice hosted in 1968 and 1980 (as well as four matches of the last iteration of the tournament).
As alluded to by FIGC President Gabriele Gravina in recent weeks, once the tournaments in 2028 and 2032 are allocated, the Federation has expressed a preference in planning and scheduling the modernization of facilities around the country – with the construction of new grounds or the redevelopment of existing stadia – over a longer timeframe.

The outstanding organisation of the EURO 2020 matches hosted in Rome and the determination to bring top-level international sporting events back to Italy drove Gravina to formalise the Federation’s position.
UEFA have set a deadline of 12 April 2023 to present the candidacy projects, with the final decision being announced by the Executive Committee in September of that year.
