Technology and sustainability for the sports pitches of the future. These were the core themes of ‘MyGreen Sports, The Next Level’, a meeting scheduled between Federcalcio Servizi, LND Impianti, and leading companies in the sports turf industry. Organised by Kulture Multimedia, it was part of the lead-up to Myplant & Garden 2026, taking place in Milan on February 18-20. The event, held yesterday morning at the Coverciano Federal Technical Centre, brought together key figures from the sector to chart the path towards more efficient and sustainable sports facilities, thanks to cutting-edge solutions for both natural and artificial turf. This meeting served as a preview of the topics that will be featured in the Sports Turf-MyGreen Sports pavilion at Myplant & Garden, the leading green industry trade fair.
Speakers included Mauro Grimaldi, CEO of Federcalcio Servizi, Christian Mossino, Vice President of LND and CEO of LND Impianti, and Maurizio Francini, Head of the Coverciano Federal Centre. The discussion also included Valeria Randazzo, Head of Myplant & Garden, and Simona Bordin, Strategic Events & Projects at Myplant & Garden.
Following the opening remarks, the event continued with a hands-on panel discussion featuring leading figures from the sector. Moderated by Simona Di Carlo, Managing Director at Kulture Multimedia, the talk focused on strategies to maximise the performance and environmental sustainability of playing surfaces. It highlighted cutting-edge solutions for the maintenance, regeneration and production of both natural and artificial turf. The goal is to combine top-level performance with a reduced environmental impact.
“It is essential to invest in know-how related to sports facilities and to raise the level of expertise in managing them,” Mauro Grimaldi highlighted. “Management involves not only turf maintenance, but also sustainability, safety, and environmental impact. Training processes must engage all stakeholders in the system.”
“We work to ensure that LND Impianti remains a constant point of reference for all parties involved in sports facility services,” added Christian Mossino. “We will make this knowledge accessible to everyone. It is also necessary to establish protocols involving relevant institutions and stakeholders, so that operational guidelines are increasingly clear and effective.”
“Today we wanted to not only bring a technical discussion to Coverciano, but a vision. A vision that looks to the future of sports turf as a balance of technology, performance, and sustainability,” said Valeria Randazzo. “This meeting represents a fundamental step in the build up to MyPlant & Garden 2026, where the Sports Turf Pavilion will once again serve as a hub for companies, institutions, and industry professionals. The collaboration with Federcalcio Servizi and LND Impianti demonstrates the shared commitment to innovating and building sports facilities that meet the environmental and technical challenges of our time.”
The discussion was particularly well attended, with key companies sharing concrete experiences, ideas, and insights from a diverse landscape. The clear goal: to build a social network that addresses various aspects, including access to financing, while combining innovation with a strong return on investment.
