On the first day of the National team retreat, the Federal Technical Center in Coverciano will also host an Italian Football Hall of Fame event at 18:30 CET on Monday 13 November. The awards ceremony will be live on RAI 2 with host Alberto Rimedio. FIGC president, Gabriele Gravina, Men’s First Team Head Coach, Luciano Spalletti, and Head of the Delegation, Gianluigi Buffon will all be in attendance. Those present to receive their award will include Gianfranco Zola, Alessandro Altobelli (Italian veteran), Cristiana Girelli (Italy player), Ernesto Pellegrini (Italian businessman) and young Tuscan referee, Luca Martelli, who will receive the Fair Play award named after Davide Astori.

The new members of the Italian Football Hall of Fame will contribute a memory from their career that will be added to the Legends Hall at the Museo del Calcio. Other great figures will also receive post-humous awards in their memory for their contributions to Italian football: Siniša Mihajlović, Erno Egri Erbstein and Mario Sconcerti will be honoured with their families present at the ceremony.

ITALIAN FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME. Founded in 2011 by the Fondazione Museo del Calcio and the FIGC to honour the heritage, history, culture, and values of Italian football, the Hall of Fame grows every year with the additions of new figures decided by a jury. This panel includes the president of the Unione Stampa Sportiva Italiana, Gianfranco Coppola, and the directors of national sporting publications including Federico Ferri (director of Sky Sport), Guido Vaciago (director of Tuttosport), Stefano Barigelli (director of Gazzetta dello Sport), Alberto Brandi, (associate director of Sport NewsMediaset), Ivan Zazzaroni (director of Corriere dello Sport and Guerin Sportivo), Piercarlo Presutti (responsible for Sport ANSA), as well as Matteo Marani, the president of the Fondazione Museo del Calcio.
