Women's National Team Head Coach

Andrea Soncin

Born in Vigevano on 5 September 1978, he came through the youth team ranks at the Lombard Club. After two experiences in Serie C2 with Solbiatese and his hometown club, where his goals helped them to promotion from Serie D, he the moved to Sambenedettese in 2001, before going on to wear the shirts of Fiorentina (where he made his Serie B debut), Pistoiese and Lanciano, where he finished the season as top goalscorer in Serie C1 with 21 goals.
In 2005, Atalanta took him to Bergamo and in his two seasons there he scored seven goals in 31 games to help them get promoted to Serie A; the following year, he made his debut in the top-flight and grabbed his first goal on 5 November 2006 in a 2-0 win against AC Milan.
In January 2007, he joined Ascoli. In his four years with the Bianconeri – interspersed with spells at Padova and Grosseto – he bagged 48 goals across Serie A (six) and Serie B (42), moving him to reach Oliver Bierhoff as the Club’s third-highest scorer of all time.

In 2013, he went to Avellino before then representing Pavia, Albinoleffe and Montebelluna. He retired from playing in 2017 and in the same year joined Venezia’s youth team coaching setup. He led the Venetian Club’s Under 17s and in the summer of 2020 was appointed as First Team technical collaborator; that season, they went on to earn promotion to Serie A. In 2021, he then started a new adventure as Head Coach of the Primavera side, with two short spells as First Team interim manager, both in 2022, first in Serie A (five games in charge with one win and two draws) and then in Serie B.
In 2018, he took part in courses for Head Coaches at Coverciano to obtain the UEFA A license and consequently followed that up by earning the UEFA Pro licence in 2021.
