Italy vs. Malta to be played at San Nicola in Bari on 14 October

The stadio San Nicola in Bari will host the Euro 2024 qualifying group game between Italy and Malta on Saturday 14 October (20:45 CEST). In eleven games played in Apulia's regional capital the Azzurri have collected nine wins, one draw and only one defeat (versus France 3-1 in a friendly in September 2016). In the FIGC's Final Bid Dossier handed in to UEFA last April, Bari is one of ten designated cities to host EURO 2032.

Italy, who beat Malta 2-0 thanks to goals from Retegui and Pessina in Ta' Qali on 26 March, are currently joint second in Group C alongside North Macedonia and three points behind leaders England. This evening, North Macedonia take on Ukraine and Malta play England. The Azzurri, tied up in Nations League action, are next back in qualifying action in September when they travel to Skopje to meet North Macedonia on the 9th, before hosting Ukraine at San Siro in Milan on the 12th.
