One U21 player positive after the second round of testing: today's training session cancelled

One of the Italy Under-21 players, who are currently at a training camp in Lignano Sabbiadoro ahead of the game against Slovenia, has tested positive for COVID-19 after the second round of testing, which was undertaken on Monday. The results arrive yesterday afternoon.
The player in question, who is totally asymptomatic, tested negative in the round of examinations on 30 August and was admitted to the training camp with the team as part of the hygiene protocol. As a result, yesterday’s training session was cancelled and the team returned to the hotel under strict isolation.
The positive player will be excluded from the camp will follow the guidance of local health authorities, who were notified in good time. As a precaution, all players and staff underwent additions molecular tests yesterday evening, even if they were negative.
