Italy face North Macedonia in the European Championship Qualifiers in Rome

The Stadio Olimpico will host Italy-North Macedonia on Friday 17 November (20:45 CEST) in Italy’s penultimate qualifying match for the 2024 Euros in Germany. The National Team return to Rome, where they have played the most matches (63, with 38 victories, 18 draws and 7 defeats), two years after drawing with Switzerland (1-1) in the qualifiers for the Qatar World Cup.

Italy have three points in Group C, the same as North Macedonia, three points off Ukraine in second place and nine from England at the top. Having played in the Nations League Final, however, the Azzurri have played one game less than Ukraine and two fewer than Southgate’s team. Italy will resume their journey to Euro qualification on Saturday 9 September at the San Siro, then on 14 and 17 October, they will face Malta in Bari and visit England at Wembley.

The tally of matches against North Macedonia is even: In 3 meetings, Italy has collected one victory, one draw and one loss, the loss being the match in March 2022 in Palermo which sealed their failure to qualify for the World Cup.
