The U21s ready to get down to work. Roma defender Calafiori ruled out due to injury
The Azzurrini will play their fifth game in European qualifying against Ireland in Dublin on FridayMonday, November 8, 2021
Today, a double training session awaits the U21s as they begin their preparations for their fifth European qualifying match, which will see them face the Republic of Ireland at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin at 18:30 CET on Friday. After the match against the Irish, the Azzurrini will then play Romania at the Stadio Benito Stirpe in Frosinone at 17:30 CET on Tuesday 16 November.
Roma defender Riccardo Calafiori won’t be part of the group after picking up a knock. As a result, Head Coach Paolo Nicolato will have 24 players at his disposal, including two players who have received their first U21 call-ups: Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini and Giacomo Quagliata, who plays in defence for Dutch top-flight side Heracles Almelo.
The squad met up at the Tirrenia Olympic Training Centre yesterday evening and will travel to Dublin on Wednesday 10 November.
