Training camp at Coverciano for players of interest from 20 to 22 December

2022 will end for the Azzurri with a special training camp for players of interest for the First Team from Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 December at Coverciano. The players called up by Head Coach Roberto Mancini have been split up into two groups: on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, those playing in Serie B will meet up so that they can return to their respective clubs six days before matchday 19, scheduled for 26 December. Instead, Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning will see those players playing abroad and in Serie A.

The camp, organised thanks to the availability of the Leagues and the Clubs, is another step in the journey undertaken last season by FIGC with the aim of supporting the transition of players from the Youth teams to the Senior Team, and to widen the base pool of players for eventual future fixtures.

The First Team will be back in action in March 2023 to open up their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign. The Azzurri will face England at stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Napoli on 23 March, and three days later will travel to Malta. Meanwhile, the Nations League Final Four will take place in The Netherlands from 14 to 18 June, with Italy, Croatia, Spain and the hosts all competing for the trophy.
